Kick a stone in Lakewood and it will hit a bar or a cool restaurant. Ice cream is a little harder to find. That will change this Friday, when Addicted Coffee and Ice Cream opens at the corner of Madison and Bunts.
Addicted is the product of husband-wife team Vince and Jeannie Brunori. Jeannie, who spent time managing coffee shops in Sacramento and San Francisco, will be bringing some West Coast-style treats to Cleveland, like the perfetta dipendenza, which translates to “perfect addiction.” It’s essentially a shot of espresso inside of a chocolate-lined waffle cone. Another dessert, Dragon’s Breath, is a candy infused with liquid nitrogen that causes the consumer to literally blow smoke after eating.
In addition to its novel creations, Addicted will serve coffee, including nitro cold brews, as well as Country Parlour ice cream from North Royalton. The hours will be 5:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and perhaps later depending on area events like St. Ed’s or Lakewood High School football games.
