The Downtown Willoughby dining and nightlife scene has undergone significant changes over the past two decades, but throughout it all there has been one constant: Corks Wine Bar (4084 Erie St., 440-918-9463). The cozy sipping spot was opened in 2001 by Greg Bodnar, who also owns Market Avenue Wine Bar in Ohio City.

Management announced this week that the end is nigh in the following statement:

“After 19 years, we have decided to sell our beloved wine bar. We thank all of you for the tremendous support over the years. We will remember all the countless showers, engagements, weddings and other celebrations you have entrusted to us. We could not have had such great success without all of our customers and their support. Our final day of business will be Wednesday, October 30th. Please stop in sometime in the next week and enjoy one last toast. Cheers!”
