Dunkin' Donuts is giving away free coffee and Rachel Ray
As part of their ongoing quest to invade Starbucks turf, all 34 Cleveland-area Dunkin Donuts
stores will be giving away free 16-ounce iced coffees all day, Wednesday, March 21.
According to its PR flacks, Dunkin' Donuts has developed an "innovative" process for brewing iced coffee, called "double brewing," which uses twice the amount of coffee to achieve consistent flavor and buzz.
Speaking of DD, the company has recently snagged a new spokes-irritant: the ever perky, always annoying Rachel Ray. In yet another press release from the doughnut maker, Ray credits her, um, high energy level to DD's fresh-brewed joe. We always figured it was meth. In any case, Ray will be featured in the company's television, print, and radio spots, as well as online, via in-store marketing, and in personal appearances, beginning in April. -- will run through 2010. -- Elaine T. Cicora
