Fundraiser at Rozi's Wine House

Local food and wine fans are invited to join Lolita chef Matt Harlan, and Corey Rossen, of Rozi's Wine House ( on Tuesday February 27 from 6 to 9 p.m., for a low-key fundraiser that promises to be as heartwarming as it is delish. Featuring food, wine, door prizes, and a raffle, the event will raise funds for Cleveland Clinic research into congenital heart disease. Rossen's 2-year-old daughter, Jordan, was diagnosed with the condition at the age of four months. "It blindsided us," says Rossen, the fourth-generation owner of the popular West Side wine stores. "Ever since then, we've tried to do whatever we can to raise awareness." Guests can nosh on healthful, Harlan-created hors d'oeuvres, including arugula salad with lamb and feta, roasted pork loin with apple chutney, and risotto cakes with mushrooms and leeks. (Rossen and Harlan, incidentally, have been buds since childhood.) And to drink, Napa Valley winemaker Charles Hendricks will be pouring heart-healthy red wines from award-winning Regusci Winery. The event will be held at Rozi's Lakewood location (14900 Detroit Ave.). No reservations are needed, and the price is only $20 per person. Last year's event raised nearly $8,000 and attracted 300 guests. Call 216-221-1119 for more information. -- Elaine T. Cicora
