The owners of
Gunselman’s Tavern, a bar and restaurant in Fairview Park with a history that dates back nearly 80 years, say the place has “unofficially served as Fairview Park’s Public House.”
As a way to give back to the community, they've just announced that they’ll host a Christmas in July fundraiser to support
Forward Fairview Park, a coalition of community business owners and residents collaborating with city government to help revitalize the Lorain Road Corridor.
“We’re excited about all the positive changes happening on Lorain Road today, as well as those that are being planned,” says Joe McDonough, who co-owns the tavern and serves on the Forward Fairview Park board. “This event will be a great opportunity for people to come out and help support the community, meet up with friends and neighbors, enjoy some really great food and have fun—and maybe win some Christmas shopping money in one of our raffles.”
The event takes place from 5 to 10 p.m. on July 29. The $20 ticket includes a traditional BBQ chicken or pork dinner, side dishes and two complimentary draft beers or sodas. Kids will receive a soda voucher that includes free refills. There will be a DJ, 50/50 and “Christmas Gift” raffles, Christmas ale, an Ugly Christmas T-Shirt contest, festive decorations and a special visit from Santa.
Tickets can be purchased in advance at Gunselman’s, through a Forward Fairview Park Board Member or by emailing
[email protected]. Tickets also will be available for purchase at the door (cash or check only).
