It doesn’t sell Hungry Mans, but it will do: a Phoenix rises in Brigade’s footprint

In February, expensive hipster boutique Clothing Brigade closed downtown. While C-Notes has nothing against Brigade—we sometimes sculpt our own hair into a faux-hawk before timidly flattening it before leaving our apartment—we wrote that the closing represented a sliver of opportunity for the Warehouse District: a chance to put something practical in its place. As it stands, all the neighborhood has is places to get drunk, hair salons, expensive and/or barftastic eateries, Starbucks, a sex shop, and a way overpriced supermarket (Constantino’s) that has a knack for closing the moment you desire Funyuns and a Gatorade. Turns out somebody read our blog. At least, that’s the conclusion we’re jumping to: the storefront that once housed Brigade now displays a sign announcing that Phoenix Coffee is coming soon. ...
