But you are so not Irish-for-the-day if you’re not getting drunk in a bar with a Gaelic name. So here are a few suggestions: The venerable McCarthy’s Ale House (16918 Detroit Avenue in Lakewood, 216-228-1340, is throwing its Kegs & Eggs Party, with the one-man band Walt Wise singing about the Emerald Isle. Hanna’s Pub (26116 Lorain Road in North Olmsted, 440-779-9174) is hawking $1 pints of Guinness and $3 corned-beed sandwiches all day. And Claddagh’s (25389 Cedar Road in Lyndhurst, 216-691-0534, is Dublin Central on the East Side, with $17.99 dinners of corned beef & cabbage, Irish stew, and Shepherd’s pie to go with pints of Guinness, Harp, and Smithwick’s. Slainte! Tuesday: Once you get the Irish out of your system, pretend you’re in Mexico at Cronies’ South of the Border on the West End of Lakewood. Along with its $2.50 Margaritas, the club – which will be renamed Eddy’s & Iggy’s next month – has beefed up its menu to include Mexican fare on Tuesdays, from chimichangas and burritos to tacos and tamales. Olé! The club is located at 17900 Detroit Avenue in Lakewood. Call 216-226-3310 for details. Wednesday: West Side movie buffs don’t have to make a 35-minute drive to the East Side anymore to watch classic flicks again. Regal Cinema in Middleburg Heights has started to screen fan faves like Moulin Rouge and American Pie just like its counterparts at the Cedar Lee and Cleveland Cinematheque do. Today, it’s showing the Matrix at 8 p.m. Tickets are $6 by calling 440-891-9845. Thursday: San Francisco comedian Kevin Pollak helps get your weekend started during a three-day stint at Pickwick & Frolic’s Hilarities. You’ll probably recognize him from his roles in National Lampoon’s Hot Flashes or A Few Good Men. But Pollak digs his natural talents at impersonating celebrities, like Jack Nicholson and Robert DeNiro. His William Shatner send-up is one of his classics. Catch him at 8 tonight or 7:30 and 10:15 p.m. tomorrow and Saturday. Tickets cost between $23 and $30 by calling 216-241-7425.
