(25 Pleasant Dr., 440-247-4800) owner Tim Bando feels that there is a void when it comes to lunch in “the Village.” To remedy that, he is launching for the first time lunch service at his three-and-a-half-year-old Chagrin Falls restaurant.
Starting tomorrow, Grove Hill will roll out a single all-day menu that will have diners covered from noon til night.
“It makes sense for us to do it that way because I don’t want to have to shut down and change over to a dinner menu,” Bando explains. “This way we can stay open all the way through.”
The all-day menu will feature many of the same comfort food specials that customers have come to appreciate – things like chicken pot pie, smoked baby back ribs meatloaf, steak frites and perch fries – and run many of the more sophisticated dishes as weekly specials.
“I feel like if we do an all-day menu and lower the menu prices across the board we can add specials in the $24 to $28 range,” says the chef.
Happy hour will be nudged back to 3-6 p.m.
From the start, Bando always intended for Grove Hill to operate as a neighborhood bar with wonderful food and not as a destination place. From fresh-shucked oysters to grilled Texas sirloin, the menu manages to tastefully cater to every whim.
“It’s going to be a place that you can just drop in – bring your family, or not – grab a drink and some great food,” he says. “I want to set the tone that this is not pretentious. I’ve learned a lot from our guests’ input and habits over the past years and think now is the time to make a change.”
New all-day service starts at 11 a.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Grove Hill is closed on Sunday and is dinner-only on Monday.
