19 Action News Reporter Scott Taylor might never win the Pulitzer Prize for investigative journalism. For the host of Dirty Dining, a great scoop is someone finding a roach in their salad or mouse-droppings in their taco. Some day he hopes to expose the coveted severed head in a bowl of minestrone. But, alas, a story like that only comes along once in a lifetime.
So for now he’s content to protect you from guys like New Franklin City Councilman Dennis Mobley, who owns Your Pizza Shop, a drive-thru and restaurant near Akron. Health inspectors have found dozens of violations at Mobley’s shop in recent years, including black mold, reused food containers, and -- gasp! -- bare hand contact with the pizza. But the zinger came in 2003, when inspectors found a live goat in the restaurant’s drive-thru!
Many reporters would shy away from confronting a man so dangerous he would house livestock in the vicinity of pizza. But that’s why they pay Taylor the big bucks. He tracked Mobley down at a council meeting, cameras rolling. The councilman tried to duck out, but the searing light of Action News’ camera was all over his ass!
“Can you explain to me why you have a goat in your restaurant?” Taylor pressed. Yet Mobley had no answers. Score one more for the Culinary Crusader.
