Everybody loves soup. And everybody is a critic. If you were to combine those two truths you’d wind up with the perfect fundraiser. That’s precisely what the good folks behind the annual
SouperBowl CLE have been doing. The popular event, which takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, offers attendees the opportunity to taste and judge dozens of soups crafted by area restaurants. Guests are given an event map at check-in to stroll around the Gordon Square Arts District to sample soups and vote by text for their favorites in various categories, including the main title of "Best Soup in Cleveland."
Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit the West Side Catholic Center. Since 1977, the West Side Catholic Center has offered hot meals, hospitality, clothing and household goods, emergency services, advocacy, a women and children's shelter, and a housing solutions program to those in need at no charge, regardless of religious affiliation.
Participating restaurants include Aladdin's Eatery, Batuqui, CHA Pizza and Spirits, Cleveland Vegan, Daily Press, Flannery's Pub, Flying Fig, Frank's Falafel House, Graffiti, Gypsy Beans and Bakery, Happy Dog, Jukebox, Latitude 41N, Local West, Luchita's, Melt Bar and Grilled, Parkview Nite Club, Pastina, Red Lantern Kitchen, Rincon Criollo, Sally's West Shore Pub, Souper Market, Stone Mad, Susy's Soup, Toast, Tommy's, Tremont Tap House and Wexler's Tavern.
