A lunch hour is a terrible thing to waste -- especially on drive-through burgers and greasy fries. Luckily, the eastside options have just expanded, with the newly minted mid-day menu at Paladar (28601 Chagrin Blvd), the Nuevo Latino restaurant and rum bar that opened in Woodmere ’s Eton-Chagrin on August 2.
About the closest that executive chef Matthew Mytro’s lunch menu veers towards burgers is the Skirt Steak Churrasco sandwich, served with aji-amarillo sauce, queso fresco, piquillo peppers, and pickled garlic – an aromatic combo that could be just the ticket for making the office close-talkers keep their distance. Other options include ceviche, gazpacho, salads, a traditional Cubano sandwich with roasted pork, ham, swiss, pickles, and mustard, and a vegetarian version, with Chihuahua cheese, marinated mushrooms and peppers, pickles, watercress, and smoky aioli.
