For the past month, Touch Supper Club (2710 Lorain Ave., 216-631-5200, touchohiocity.com) has been closed while it undergoes the first significant remodel of its interior since opening.
“It’s been the same since the place opened 15 years ago,” says owner Rob Ivanov. The majority of the work is taking place downstairs in the club, he reports. “It’s all brand new – everything from top to bottom has been gutted,” he says.
New hardwood floors, new bathrooms, new seating, and new sound system join a new layout. The bar was pushed around the corner and down the wall a few feet to improve ingress and egress from the room. It also frees up more room for seating.
“It give us an opportunity to host more events down there,” Ivanov says. “We’ll still stay true to our roots with live bands and deejays – the good stuff Touch is known for.”
Upstairs is getting a good freshening up, too, he says. When Touch reopens sometime before New Year’s, it will do so with a new menu that offers diners more options.
Also in the works is a second Touch food truck, which will double the rolling food fun come spring.
