Yuzu owner Dave Bumba announced on Facebook this morning that the space on Madison is being sold to Jackie Kim, who also owns North Olmsted's Ohashi, and is reopening as Aji Noodle Bar sometime in July.
In the Facebook post, Bumba was quick to dispel any thoughts that the move had to do with any recent "controversial" news stories about his place:
"To clarify, this has ZERO to do with #tampongate (which we've raised close to one thousand dollars) or any other “controversy”; This deal was long in the works before any of that," Bumba wrote.
Instead, he said the move had more to do with health than anything else.
Yuzu will always be remembered for its "approachable neighborhood bar with global comfort foods" as well as its themed trivia nights and events. At this time, it looks like the Lakewood mac and cheese bar Mad Mac's, also owned by Bumba, is still going strong.
