Now 66, Phillips lives in South Africa and continues to play from his wide-ranging catalog, which includes jazz, classical and folk tunes. In 2006, he collaborated on a nine-movement ballet, Events in the Life of a Prince; a year later he released Living Contribution, a live DVD with Paul Buckmaster and J. Peter Robinson, two musicians he’s repeatedly worked with over the years. He plays the Winchester Tavern (12112 Madison Ave., 216.226.5681, thewinchester.net) at 9 p.m. Tickets: $15. — Ernest Barteldes
