6/7: Dog Days at the Cleveland Botanical Garden

Posted By on Fri, Jun 5, 2009 at 9:30 AM

Has your dog been the perfect little angel lately? She hasn’t ripped your newspaper in weeks, and she’s even stopped pestering the cat! Are you looking for a special way to reward her? Take her to the Cleveland Botanical Garden (11030 East Blvd., 216.721.1600) from noon-5p.m. on Sundays this summer starting today for the Garden’s Dog Day Afternoons. Snap on her leash and head to the Kohl Gate off Wade Park Oval for direct access to all the outdoor gardens (except the Hershey Children’s Garden). A leisurely stroll through such beautifully designed environments as the Japanese Garden, the Woodland Garden and the Western Reserve Herb Society’s fragrant herb garden will be therapeutic for both of you. There’ll be water and dog treats available throughout the grounds, and each week a dog-related partnering organization will present information and programs. This week, the Sanctuary for Senior Dogs will offer a therapy dog demonstration at 3 p.m. It’s $7.50 for humans, free for dogs. The event runs through September 27. — Anastasia Pantsios
