7/8: Eugene Onegin/Opera in High-Def Series

Posted By on Mon, Jul 6, 2009 at 8:00 AM

Tchaikovsky’s opera Eugene Onegin is based on a novel by Russian romantic poet Alexander Pushkin. It’s the story of frustrated love, jealousy, murder and living long enough to regret it all. Opera de Paris’ 2008 production — featuring a cast of Russian singers and the Bolshoi Orchestra — screens as part of Cedar-Lee Theater’s (2163 Lee Rd., Cleveland Hts., 440.321.5411) Opera in High-Def series at 7 tonight, and at 2 p.m. on July 12. Tickets: $20. — Michael Gill
