10/6: American Songbook Sing-Along at Cleveland Playhouse

Posted By on Sat, Oct 3, 2009 at 8:00 AM

Two days after closing his one-man show Beethoven, As I Knew Him, piano man Hershey Felder heads forward in time for the American Songbook Sing-Along, which includes tunes by some of the greatest composers of the past 100 years. Felder — who studied piano with Juilliard’s esteemed Jerome Lowenthal and has worked extensively with veteran TV director Joel Zwick — has built a career on musical biographies of legends like George Gershwin, Chopin and Beethoven. Here he gives the audience a chance to join in. The show opens at 8 p.m. and runs through Oct. 11 at Cleveland Playhouse’s Bolton Theatre (8500 Euclid Ave., 216.795.7000). Tickets: $34-$39. — Michael Gill
