10/11: Burning River Ride for AIDS/HIV

Posted By on Wed, Oct 7, 2009 at 4:42 PM

The AIDS Taskforce of Greater Cleveland held the last of its long-running AIDS Walks earlier this year. It’s now launching something new with the first Burning River Ride: A Journey for the Future of People With HIV/AIDS. The event is an all-day, ride-at-your-own pace event for people of all ages that offers a variety of routes of different lengths through the Cleveland Metroparks, beginning and ending at the polo fields in the South Chagrin Reservation (SR 87 and Chagrin River Rd.). You can register and ride any time from 7 a.m.-2 p.m., so there’s none of that get-up-at-dawn-to-register stuff. There’ll be aid stations and refreshments along the routes and a post-ride catered meal for riders at 2 p.m. at the polo field. Fee is $25 adults, $10 7-15, free for 6 and under. Call 216.357.2223 or go to aidstaskforce.org for more information. — Anastasia Pantsios
