You won’t find people playing Cleveland/Slovenian-Style polka just anywhere. It’s a style of music that’s unique to Cleveland, and the musicians who’ll perform at the 35th annual Pre-Thanksgiving Polka Jam that takes place on Wednesday, Nov. 27, at the Slovenian National Home all know that.
The event serves an open jam session for all the famous polka musicians in town, and musicians travel in from the entire region for the Polka Hall of Fame’s award ceremony that takes place that weekend.
Organizers say one musician from Slovenia should be in attendance too.
The bash begins at 6:30 p.m., and tickets cost $2. The bar will serve Slovenian wines, craft beers and Slovenian foods (think krajnska klobasa, jota, walnut potica, and želševka).
