Ouster/Soft Copy/Nah Nah
During the past two years, singer-guitarist Desarae Petersen and singer-bassist Matt Meinke recorded their first LP, Muted Window/Hollow Dive, at Upper Room Recordings in Elyria. One of the tracks, "You Don't Want Out," was the first song that they co-wrote and the first song they recorded straight to 7-inch tape. Songs such as the boisterous "You Don't Want Out" sound like the Strokes if they were fronted by a female singer, and "Millionaires Row" benefits from the contrast between distorted guitars and plaintive vocals. Tonight's show serves as a benefit for the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center. (Jeff Niesel) 9 p.m., $5. Happy Dog.
Turkuaz/Too Many Zooz
As the year comes to a close, Too Many Zooz has teamed up with the Brooklyn-based Turkuaz, a group that draws from funk, alternative, rock, R&B and psychedelia on its latest album, Life in the City. The two acts will hit the road next week for a short tour that includes tonight's show at House of Blues. Should be a great double bill. (Niesel) 9 p.m., $24 ADV, $26 DOS. House of Blues.

Mushroomhead
Given the decidedly dark nature of its music, it's no surprise that the local metal band Mushroomhead would play a special Christmas show in honor of Krampus, the mythical creature who punishes bad children during the Christmas season. It's been a banner year for the band, which embarked on the Summer of Screams tour that paired it with Powerman 5000, the Browning, Psychostick, Kissing Candice, Unsaid Fate, Voodoo Terror Tribe and Earth Caller. It also released a new DVD, Volume III. The disc features more than 90 minutes of new material, including new music videos, footage of backstage antics and exclusive never-seen-before content. Red Wanting Blue/Will Hoge/The Building
After last year’s successful New Year’s Eve party with the Columbus-based indie rock act Red Wanting Blue, the Goodyear Theater in Akron will again host the band for its 2018 Holiday Bash. Singer-songwriter Will Hoge and indie rockers the Building, a band featuring Youngstown native and War on Drugs' guitarist Anthony LaMarca, will open the show. Given all the local connections, this should be a good time. (Niesel), 8 p.m., $35-$400. Goodyear Theater.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra
In its 20-year history, Trans-Siberian Orchestra has put up some impressive numbers. The band has played more than 1,600 shows for more than 11 million fans. For the past several years, the band’s winter tours have consistently ranked in the Top 10 for attendance and grosses., This year, it has visited 65 cities across North America for 100-plus performances before concluding with these two shows at the Q today.
