Akron's Waitresses Still Know What Boys Like

More holiday spirit, more free music: The Waitresses, who rode Akron’s new-wave boom to early-MTV fame with “I Know What Boys Like,” have posted an album of outtakes to its website. Fans can download the entire album for free and read songwriter Chris Butler’s notes (singer Patty Donahue died of cancer in 1996). Unfortunately, the Waitresses’ terrific holiday single, “Christmas Wrapping,” isn’t included. That cut is definitely worth tracking down. No Christmas mix (or Shrek TV holiday special) is complete without it.
