Once spotlighted by VH1 as a band “You Oughta Know,” SafetySuit takes its musical cues from acts such as U2, Coldplay and the Police, writing arena-ready rock anthems that feature uplifting lyrics and mid-range vocals.

In advance of a new studio album due out before the year’s end, the group came through town last night to play an acoustic set at the downtown Aloft hotel as part of the Live At Aloft Hotels 2016 Tour.

With its infectious piano riff and call-and-response vocals, the group’s latest single, “Keep Looking Up,” comes across as a cross between Ben Folds and Train. We spoke to the guys from the hotel's Green Room slightly before they took the stage.
