TOP PICK
Major League Baseball 2K10
(2K Sports)
Just in time for baseball season, this annual videogame favorite (for pretty much every console out there) improves on last year's buggy outing by stepping up pitching and batting features. Best is the new My Player mode, where you build a rookie from the locker room all the way up to the majors. You'll be playing the field like cover boy Evan Longoria in no time.
DVD
Astro Boy
(Summit)
This update of the classic '60s anime retains some of the original's spirit — especially the sleek look of Metro City. The star-studded voice cast (Nicolas Cage, Samuel L. Jackson and Charlize Theron) is a bit distracting at times, but the story (superhero robot-boy saves the day!) and fast-paced action (lots of explosions!) keep things whizzing by.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2
(Electronic Arts)
The war shooter series (for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC) returns for another intense outing that steps up the multiplayer action. Yeah, it's a lot like the terrific Call of Duty games, but Battlefield's online mode lets you control tanks, choppers and ships — which means you can blow the shit out of big stuff with a mash of a button. The single-player campaign is great too.

Planet 51
(Sony)
Sci-fi fans should enjoy this animated movie about a NASA astronaut (voiced by Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson) who lands on an alien planet, whose residents are even more freaked out about his predicament than he is. There are plenty of nods to sci-fi classics like Star Wars, The War of the Worlds, Alien and 2001: A Space Odyssey throughout.
CD
Elvis Presley: On Stage: Legacy Edition
(RCA/Legacy)
This deluxe, two-disc set gathers a pair of post-comeback Elvis albums (1969's Elvis in Person and the following year's On Stage) plus 10 bonus tracks. The concerts are a crucial link to Presley's final years, but the King sounds stable and sturdy here, running through oldies ("Blue Suede Shoes"), recent hits ("Suspicious Minds") and other people's songs ("Proud Mary").
