Local bassist Patrick Christopher died suddenly on June 7 and to honor him, the Beachland Ballroom is hosting an open invitation music memorial from 1 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9. With acts such as Hayshaker Jones, the Jack Fords, Lonesome Bones, Bop Dead and most recently Code Blue and the Forgotten Souls of Antiquity, Christopher played a bit of everything, including blues, Americana, rock and alternative music. Over the years, his bands had opened for the Rolling Stones’ Mick Taylor, the Doors’ Robby Krieger and the Band’s Garth Hudson. Lunch will be served at the event. Find more information here.
