For starters, Kweller will be releasing a self-titled, Gil Norton-produced album in mid-September. The young singer-songwriter (he'll celebrate his 25th birthday onstage in Cleveland) describes his upcoming disc as "really layered and really big and anthemic." He should know, of course; he played every recorded note.
But a more collaborative effort is what this summer's really all about, as Kweller and his spouse, Liz, will soon welcome a baby boy to their Brooklyn, New York household."I've had a few of these album babies," Kweller says, "so I don't get that nervous about them anymore. The thing about an album is, you can approve it before it comes out. But this little guy that I'm expecting out of Liz's belly, I have no idea what he's going to be like, so I'm really looking forward to that."
