Bishop Brothers to Play Farewell Show at the Five O’Clock

Music News

Local classic country and rockabilly band the Bishop Brothers are a “hodge-podge" of people from other bands. Doxa’s Matt Novak plays drums, Charles Hill Jr. Band’s Steve Simantrious plays lead guitar and He-Chaw Frunk’s Chris Bishop plays guitar and sings. The other two guys are from out of town. Bishop’s brother Tayler plays upright bass in Bibs And Barefeet, a bluegrass band out of the Cincinnati area and harmonica player John K Victor plays harmonica. He’s a member of the Chilocothe-based bluegrass band Strung Up.

Chris Bishop is moving to Virgina so the band’s gig at the Five O’Clock Lounge in Lakewood on Saturday night will be its last. “There is nothing I love more in this world than playing music with my brother and this is the last time for a long time,” says Bishop. “I can't express in words how much fun this band is and how great all of the musicians are.” Clint Holley and Charles Hill Jr. open. The show starts at 9 p.m.
