CD Reviews: Robyn

Body Talk (Cherrytree/Interscope)

In "Call Your Girlfriend," the girl who earlier this year was "Dancing on My Own" and pleading for a reliable fuck buddy in "Hang With Me" finally gets the last laugh. Now if only she could get the object of her affection to grow a pair and tell his girlfriend what he just confided in Robyn. Either way, her declaration of "You and me together, stars forever" sounds like a victory lap at the end of a year that's seen three new releases by the Swedish electro-pop singer. Body Talk the album follows a pair of EPs that have the same name. The best cuts from the earlier records are repeated here: "Fembot," "Don't Fucking Tell Me What to Do," "Dancing on My Own," and "Hang With Me." The five new songs — including "Call Your Girlfriend" and the ebullient "Get Myself Together" — pledge love that's as indestructible as the woman who's singing them. Weiss
