Cleveland Institute of Music professor Jason Vieaux stepped into the national spotlight for a moment last night and won a Grammy in the Best Classical Instrumental Solo category for his album Play. The eclectic collection of songs comprises a lot of stuff Vieaux has performed in the encore slot over the years, giving the album something of a playful feel.

"The encore is sort of like an extra bonus track kind of thing, and a sort of celebration of the wonderful evening that we’ve all shared together," he told WCPN
