Concert Announcement

Local guitarist Doug Wood, a guy who cites bands such as the Who, King Crimson, Michael Hedges, Pat Metheny and Bela Fleck & the Flecktones as influences, is one of Cleveland’s finest guitarists. A John Carroll University graduate, he formed the acoustic group Watts Gnu in 1989. After that band broke up, Wood has worked as a solo artist. He brings his touring show Guys With Guitars to Euclid City Limits, a venue in the upstairs of the community space of the Conscious Nest at the corner of East 200th Street and Lakeshore Blvd in Euclid .

The band’s approach is modeled after the former Windham Hill Concerts format that featured several touring solo artists performing their own solo material and collaborating with each other on songs. The concert will feature Wood, guitarist Patrick Woods and bassist Darren Frate. It takes place at 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, and tickets are $7 in advance, $10 day of the show.
