New Found Glory is that band. The band that everyone has listened to, hated on or worshipped at one point. Face it, if you’re between the ages of 13 and 25, you’ve heard at least one New Found Glory song in your life and probably formed a pretty strong opinion about it.

“This is the tour to make all of you feel old,” singer Jordan Pundik said at one during the band's concert at House of Blues last night.

It’s been 10 years since the Florida group released its self-titled debut. Most of the audience members were in middle-school when the album came out, but they kept listening and they're still singing along.

Whether or not you like New Found Glory, you’ve got to give them credit for still getting kids completely stoked about their music. And that’s exactly the reaction they received to their set last night. Even the sound techs sang along to “My Friends Over You.”

New Found Glory played songs from their seven other albums — including the latest, Not Without A Fight — but the audience was there to hear every song from New Found Glory, the album that made the band one of the biggest in pop-punk.

The songs may be a decade old, but they sounded just as good last night as they did in 2000. The energy, spirit and I-don’t-wanna-grow-up attitude was still there. Apparently, songs about letting go (“So Many Way”), growing up (“Ballad for the Lost Romantics”) and losing love (every other song on the album) never get old.

After their set, New Found Glory did what most bands do: They thanked their fans. Only it didn’t sound rehearsed and cheesy. It sounded sincere.

Opening bands Fireworks, Hellogoodbye and Saves the Day all had stellar sets, but the night belonged to New Found Glory. After 10 years, they earned it. —Brittany Moseley
