Customer Appreciation Night at Hi-Fi

The Hi-Fi Concert Club has extracted itself from the Jigsaw debacle. It's back in the hands of longtime owners Billy Morris and Jimmy Maler. And it's going to stay there (contrary to rumors that they've sold it again). "We have been put in financial stress," says Maler. "But closing the doors has never been discussed as an option."

To let patrons know they're sticking around, the Lakewood club is hosting a Music Appreciation Show tomorrow night — which sounds slightly more innovative than "customer appreciation show." The 21+ show kicks off at 9 p.m., with free admission and cheap beer, courtesy of their friends at Lava Room Recording. Maler's modern-rock band View From Everest headlines a bill with Lovesick Radio, Superego and Allison Bencar.

"The Hi-Fi would like to extend thanks to all the people who have supported the club and the local music scene," says Maler. "The fans, musicians, promoters, friends and party people that make the Hi-Fi and Cleveland rock." (The club has a new phone number, 216.221.4747, and website, thehificoncertclub.com.) —D.X. Ferris
