It's extremely doubtful that a more audience-abusing tour will hit America this year. For fans of pure crushing metal, this is about as hard and heavy as it's possible to get, without actually sticking your head under a steamroller. Deicide is . . . well, it's Deicide, and it's still around, and it's going to kick your ass. The band's show is sure to include songs from its forthcoming album, which is due for release on . . . Christmas Day.

Hate Eternal, which recently graduated from being a Morbid Angel side project to a full-time band, blends death and grind in a way that's distressingly retro, but ferocious nonetheless. Krisiun's new album, Works of Carnage, is blindingly fast, technically intricate, and produced by Cryptopsy's board-manner, for that extra inhuman touch. Cattle Decapitation is one of the fiercest bands around; its To Serve Man is a political-grindcore masterwork, unrelenting and savage. From top to bottom, this is a show worth catching. Just don't go in expecting melody or decipherable vocals, and you'll be fine.
