Formed in 1991, the Ohio-based jam band ekoostik hookah has hosted more than 50 iterations of its Hookahville festival that has featured national acts such as Ratdog, Gov't Mule, Umphrey's McGee, Béla Fleck & the Flecktones, Blues Traveler and many others.

Earlier this year, the group celebrated its 30th anniversary.

Ekoostik hookah was set to play on Thursday and Friday this week at the Beachland Ballroom to usher in the new year but has just cancelled both gigs due to the rise in COVID cases.

“We’ve made the difficult decision to cancel this week’s two-night NYE run at the Beachland Ballroom,” the band recently tweeted. “We will instead be hosting a free two-night stream on 12/30 and 12/31 from our official Facebook, YouTube and Twitch channels."
