"The new Euclid Beach Pier plays a pivotal role in connecting the community with the lakefront,” Metroparks CEO Brian Zimmerman said in a statement. “It not only offers a picturesque location for gathering with family and friends but expands opportunities for nature-based education and programming."
From the edge of the new spot, which is now open for exploration, Clevelanders can take in a sunrise, the city skyline and even some historic touches on the 315-foot pier itself (including iron arches celebrating the original Euclid Beach amusement park).
The space also now includes a nearby fresh patch of grass and a swimming area.
The pier opens just in time for the Euclid Beach LIVE events, which start up next Friday, May 31, and go from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
