A self-described “beloved neighborhood bar, comfort food trendsetter and Cleveland cultural landmark,” the westside Happy Dog is about to turn 10 years old. To mark its anniversary, the bar/restaurant that hosts live music, panel discussions and trivia nights will feature a series of special events.

The celebration commences at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 1, with a special anniversary themed edition of Keep Talking: A Storytelling Show. From 8 p.m. to midnight on Thursday, Aug. 2, DJ Dougie Jones will host a special Industry Night that will feature discounted food and drinks.

DJ LDC will spin old soul and funk music from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 3, and the bands Megachurch, the Beyonders and Dana will perform after his set. A special night of karaoke takes place at 9 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 5.

There will be a special brunch from noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 5. That same day, Counter Intuits, the Cowboy and Kruds will play a free show that starts at 4 p.m. Food and drink specials include $5 hot dogs, $2.50 tots and $1 Miller High Life. New permanent menu items include a Field Roast vegan burger, pork kielbasa and a “red hot” hot dog.
