- Take him out to the ballgame
Craig Finn, one of our favorite people in the world, just teamed up with the Baseball Project for a song that's better than almost every song on the past two Hold Steady albums.
Of course, we should tell you the song is about Finn's beloved Minnesota Twins, so diehard Indians supporters (are there any still out there? Hello? echo, echo, echo ...) might want to stay away.
The song is from an upcoming album by the revolving Baseball Project, which is fronted by the Dream Syndicate's Steve Wynn and includes contributions from R.E.M.'s Peter Buck.
"Don't Call Them Twinkies" is a fierce rocker loaded with chunky guitars and Finn snarling his way through Twins history.
It's a great song. Give it a listen:
Maybe if the Tribe won a few games, someone would write a cool song about them too. —Michael Gallucci
