The Eternal Legacy track "Metal Anvil" will be featured on Metal Crusade, a compilation assembled by German magazine Heavy. The CD will be included with the December/January issue.
Eternal Legacy represented Cleveland's Auburn Records at Germany's Headbanger's Open Air festival in July. After impressive showings at the festival and a club show, the band was on the magazine's radar.
"'Metal Anvil' was one of the highlights from both their live set and The Coming of the Tempest album," says writer Martin Brandt. "We have featured Auburn [Records] bands on this compilation in the past and always received a great response."
The tech-metal shredders are at work on their second disc, a concept album. Guitarist and singer Jason Vanek will produce it at the band's Mercinary Studios. "I anticipate this to be a much more solid and developed release," says Vanek. "We are adding a heavier edge to the songwriting with more old-school riffs."
Vanek, a horror enthusiast, also has two other projects in the works. Friday, October 26 through Sunday, October 28, he'll host his 20th-annual Halloween Haunted Yard at his residence in Parma (5900 Rousseau Drive). All donations benefit the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation. Vanek's Skin and Bone Productions, a mask- and prop-design company, has a new latex mask based on Rob Zombie's overhaul of Halloween's Michael Myers character.
• In other Auburn news, original Breaker vocalist Jim Hamar will rejoin the band for next year's Bang Your Head festival in Germany. Hamar sang on the group's 1987 Get Tough! LP and 1999's Accept EP.
• The Whiskey Daredevils have completed their third LP. The disc will be released in Germany this week on Knock-Out Records. On The Whiskey Daredevils' Old Favorites, the garage punkabilly band revamps hardcore classics by the Circle Jerks, Black Flag, Minor Threat, and more. The disc will be available in the States soon. Get a taste at a free show this weekend, with Uncle Scratch's Gospel Revival and Pennsylvania rockabilly rioters the Marauders, at the Grog Shop (2785 Euclid Heights Boulevard).
