Kill the Fall

The Waiting Process (Tragic End)

Kill the Fall metal Allergic to Whores Friday, June 20, at the Jigsaw.

Since disbanding the Danzig-indebted hardcore phenom Allergic to Whores in 2004, Ray Terry has led Kill the Fall, a slower power trio that sounds like a killing machine idling on the side of a dirt road, midway between downtown Cleveland and the Hellmouth. And even though Terry has essentially been making the same record for years now, Kill the Fall's second album is alternately more punky and more rawky. Terry and bassist Chris Wheeler rumble in harmony through a set of songs that plays like a concept album about a heartbroken, murderous Frankenstein monster who's collecting his thoughts in a haunted house. "A Secret Language" is Terry's most hardcore moment in years, while "Knee Deep in Deception" balances the album with a ponderous meditation on doom and gloom.
