Since its inception 12 years ago, the Kamm’s Corners Farmers Market has sought to offer more than just local fruits and veggies. Each market also features a musical performance. The market, which takes place on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at West 168th St. and Lorain Ave., comes off like a family get together.

“We have something special in the Kamm’s Corners Farmers Market,” says market manager Bill Markowitz in a press release announcing this year's schedule. ”The market has become the neighborhood town square on Sundays. Neighbors meet to shop, listen to music, and catch up on news. Through continued efforts by our volunteers, our vendors, and our local businesses, attendance and participation at the market has continually grown throughout the years.”

The market routinely presents a diverse lineup of mostly local musical acts, and this year's Kamm's Corners Farmers Market continues that tradition.

Local guitarist Pete Cavano kicks things off on Sunday, and UK-based blues guitarist Dave Thomas performs on June 17.

The schedule also includes the Bill Lestock Trio (June 24), Rockport (July 1), singer-songwriter Alex Bevan (July 8), Jody, John & George (July 15), singer-songwriter Tracy Marie (July 22), Brand New Hat (july 29), Hollywood Slim Trio (Aug. 5), Alex Bevan (Aug. 12), Jim Volk (Aug. 19), Jeff Sherman (Sept. 2), Cats on Holiday (Sept. 9), the Michelle Romary Trio (Sept. 23) and Jim & Eroc (Sept. 30) and Wallace Coleman (Oct. 7).
