Live Bloggin' the Rock Hall Inductions: Run-DMC

Run-DMC (who apparently don't get along so well these days) were inducted by Eminem, dressed in an old-school hip-hop outfit (including leather jacket and fedora). He recalled how he first heard them when he was 11 and how their music changed his life. "Something beautiful, something unique," he said. "Two turntables and a microphone."

The duo didn't perform (they refuse to play without DJ Jam Master Jay, who was killed a few years back). The fact that Run is Rev. Run these days probably has something to do with it too.

Run and DMC individually thanked inspiration, including weed (this was from the Rev!).

DMC nearly broke down with tears as he thanked his family. Then he said he'll be back in the hall as a solo artist in 25 years.

Both of them pointed out their distinction as a rap group in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
