Meet the Band: Butch "Butchie B" Buchanan (vocals and keyboards), Chopper (bass, guitars, and vocals), Gino Long (guitars, bass, and vocals), Eddie Mars (keyboards and vocals), and Rod Reisman (drums)
The Plot: Fifteen years after they formed, Outlaws I & I have gradually evolved into a sort of reggae supergroup, with four former members of local cult favorites First Light now backing the Outlaws' dynamic founder and frontman Butchie B.
Rubbing Shoulders: Band members have shared stages with the mighty likes of the Clash, Toots & the Maytals, the Wailers, and Steel Pulse. This week they open for Black Uhuru at the Beachland. "Definitely stoked about that," says Mars. "They are heroes of mine."
Sales Pitch: "Our way with reggae is to let our varied musical influences shine through, without a moment's pause in the groove," says Mars.
