In their band bio, the guys in the local group Destination (Original Raw Music), an industrial-strength hard rock group that sounds a bit like Rob Zombie, maintain they’re “uninterested in perfectly-tuned, polished music – they’re more into the hiss, pop, and crackle of their tracks with the live feel of loud, raw guitar and pounding drums.” The band cites Buddy Rich, Robin Trower, Korn and Jane’s Addiction as influences. Mikey Smolen and Tim Greene, the band’s founding members, recently added 20-year-old guitarist Tristan Loparo to the line-up, and he can really shred.
The group plays a CD Release Party at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 30, at the Beachland Tavern. Tickets are $5. check out the music video for their first single:
