Local Metal Community Rallies to Support Nunslaughter/Schnauzer's Jim Konya

Music News

A veteran of the metal scene who’s played with local acts such as Nunslaughter and Schnauzer, Jim Konya recently suffered a stroke. A campaign is currently underway to help raise funds to help him pay for his medical expenses. Today at 6 p.m., heavy metal yoga instructor Shannon Nietzsche hosts a donation based class at Lakewood Park.

Then, at 4 p.m. on Sunday, a group of people will pose for a photo in front of Rock and Roll City Studios (5500 Walworth Ave.). Jon Lichtenberg, a terrific locally based photographer who contributes to Scene, will take the shot and then blow the photo up to poster size and present to Konya. Find more info about the campaign here.
