The guys in the local rock act Mollo Rilla recently drove to Nashville for a weekend session with producer Lincoln Parish, the former Grammy-nominated and platinum album guitarist for alt-rock band Cage the Elephant. They came away from the session with their new single, “Sangria,” a Strokes-meets-the Georgia Satellites-like song about “partying with your favorite people to make the most of summer.”

The track will be available on Spotify, Apple Music and other digital outlets on Sept. 7.

Mollo Rilla lead singer Marco Ciofani says growing up in Northeast Ohio inspired the track's sentiment.

“Being from Cleveland, you fill your summers with as much of this as you can before winter blows in,” says Ciofani in a press release about the song.

Mollo Rilla’s next local show takes place at 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13, at the Winchester Music Tavern in Lakewood.
