Local singer-guitarist CJ Gunn, who spent several years playing with Ramones drummer Marky Ramone, has just published a warts-and-all book about the experience. Gunn’s autobiography, Catch Me When I Fall; A Story Of Punk Rock, Addiction and Recovery, came out earlier this year. Coincidentally, Ramone, who played with the Ramones for 15 years before embarking on a solo career, also issued an autobiography this year.

Now, Gunn has booked a series of local shows to celebrate its release. He and his band perform on Oct. 30 at the Stone Tavern in Kent and on Nov. 13 at the Spitfire. His band features several notable local musicians, including bassist Shawn Hinkle (Crossface, Schnauzer), guitarist Holly Berry(Dead Enders, Subtones) and drummer J-44 (Empty Arms, Choking Susan and Glitter Trash). This will be the first time that the printed edition of Catch Me When I Fall will be available. The E-book recently spent four weeks in the Top 5 on Amazon’s “Best Sellers in Biographies of Punk Rock Musician" list and made it as high as No. 2 during that time.
