Since opening a few years ago on the East Bank of the Flats, the downtown Aloft hotel has hosted several national acts for "Live at Aloft" acoustic sessions.

Now, the Beachwood Aloft is getting in on the action.

It has just announced that local singer-songwriter Phil Bonanno will perform at hotel’s W XYZ bar every Tuesday and Saturday evening. The concerts will be open to hotel guests and local music fans alike. On a national level, the hotel chain has hosted since its inception in 2008 — Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran and the Lumineers have all participated in its “Live at Aloft” series before becoming household names.

In addition to live music, concert attendees can sample the W XYZ bar’s selection of beers, wines and specialty cocktails as well as bite-size appetizers. Guests can listen to the performance in the bar or in the Backyard, an adjacent outdoor seating area.

“From the beginning, Aloft has appealed to trendsetters who want their hotel to be as innovative and forward-thinking as they are – a place where they’re surrounded by the latest in technology, design and music while enjoying a social atmosphere as vibrant as each hotel’s interior,” says the hotel’s general manager Alan Feuerman in a press release. “We’re thrilled to bring the ‘Live at Aloft Hotels’ series to Aloft Beachwood, enhancing the experience for our guests and establishing the W XYZ bar as a destination for locals looking to make an ordinary night out extraordinary.”

Bonnano has four albums of original material and his repertoire includes more than 200 cover songs. He’ll perform at the hotel on Tuesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. throughout the month of May. Admission is free.
