Local Singer-Songwriter Ryan Humbert Announces Dates of Annual Holiday Concert

Now in its seventh year, the annual Ryan Humbert Holiday Extravaganza: Country Christmas has become a holiday tradition. The concert, set to take place on Dec. 20 and 21 at the Akron Civic Theatre will feature singer-songwriter Ryan Humbert and singer Emily Bates with a few of their closest musical friends. Locals Hillbilly IDOL will back the duo as it plays holiday classics with a country and honky-tonk spin. The show will also feature “classic hits and hidden gems” from the country music songbook. The concerts will raise funds for Akron General’s Muffins for Mammograms program.

“Wow – our 7th annual Holiday show!? Where has the time gone!?,” Humbert writes in a press release. “I’m so excited to be back at the Akron Civic Theatre again this year, helping spread holiday cheer by supporting an organization that helps so many people in our area. My mother successfully beat breast cancer through treatment at Akron General, and I believe all women should have the opportunity to get screened for this disease that needlessly affects so many. I’m so glad we can play even a small part in helping other women through the Akron General Muffins for Mammograms Program. And we certainly couldn’t do it without the support of our generous sponsors.”

Akron AAA Auto Club, Akron General Health System, The Greater Akron Chamber, FirstEnergy and FM 94.9 WQMX are all sponsors of the event. A small live auction takes place during each concert — proceeds benefit the Muffins for Mammograms program. Tickets are $20 for general admission or $35 for two (date night special). Tickets are available now at the Akron Civic box office at 330-253-2488 and online at akroncivic.com or at all Ticketmaster locations.
