Medina Ice Cream Shop Pays Tribute to Local Heavy Metal DJ Bill Peters

Chill Artisan Ice Cream, a shop located in Medina, recently introduced Metal on Metal, a new flavor named after Bill Peters and the radio show he hosts on WJCU.

“I had no idea they were doing this,” says Peters. "I've been a regular customer since when they first opened. I always try to support the indie shops. They have great ice cream here and change the assortment often. It’s been out for sale a couple of weeks now and has become one of their best sellers. The flavor has a very unique taste that is totally metal! They've sold completely out of it several times already. It's crazy!"

The ice cream is black in color for heavy metal and made of coconut ash. It’ll even make your tongue turn black.

“My radio listeners have been coming from all over to try it,” says Peters.

Peters’ mother Kathryn Mills [pictured] tried it for the first time on Monday.

This year marks the 35th anniversary year of the Friday night radio show on WJCU 88.7 FM. Locally, Melt has a sandwich named after Peters too. It's called the Metal On Metal Mighty Macaroni Melt.
