Part of the “family” that worked at the Agora in the ‘70s, Chrissy Krause was an early pioneer in the local rock scene. She started her career as the assistant to Agora concert booker Buddy Maver and then became the club’s promotion director. She later spent years working at a number of Cleveland radio stations in promotion and marketing and as an on-air personality.
Now, she has cancer. On Sunday at the
Beachland Ballroom, local hero Michael Stanley [pictured] will headline a benefit to help raise money so that she can seek alternative treatment outside of the country for Angiosarcoma, a rare form of cancer.
“She always had that big smile and great energy even when grumpy rock stars were giving her a hard time,” says Maver in a press release. “She had a hand in everything that was going on.”
The Cleveland All-Stars, a local group featuring veteran musicians such as Butch Armstrong, Ernie Krivda, Tony Mazzone, Tampa Murphy, George Sipl, Alan Greene, Bobby Huszar, Jack Hrusch, Norman Tischler and Maver, will open.
