Mikey G's Weekend Picks: a 92-cent sandwich weekend!

Mikey G claims he doesn't know who Amanda Bynes is. Mikey G's wife must read C-Notes.
This weekend’s top arts and entertainment picks around town, from the guy who’s paid to pick them: Friday: The Bad Boys of Rock tour comes to town tonight with a bunch of shirtless tattooed guys who like their music loud. The three bands -- Hinder, Papa Roach, and Buckcherry -- share more than an affinity for partying like they were in Led Zeppelin circa 1975. Apparently, none of them has heard a record released after 1990 either. No matter – this is probably the sweatiest show you’ll see all summer. It comes to the Time Warner Amphitheater. Saturday: There’s nothing we like more than cheap food. So look for us at Jimmy John’s Customer Appreciation Day this afternoon, waiting in line to score a discounted sub. All sandwiches go for a mere 92 cents! Why 92 cents, you ask? Because 92.3 FM will be there too, handing out free stuff. Cheap food + free stuff = score! It all happens from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Jimmy John’s in Coventry. Sunday: I’m not a 14-year-old girl, so I have no idea who Amanda Bynes is. According to IMDB, she was the star of What I Like About You – which ran a whopping four seasons on the WB (that probably explains why I never heard of her). Bynes is expanding her talents to the fashion world. She recently launched a new clothing line called Dear, which features jeans, hoodies, and shoes. She’ll be at the Steve & Barry’s store at Southland Shopping Center today, signing autographs, chatting up fans, and reminding folks she was the voice of Piper in Robots (thanks IMDB!). -- Michael Gallucci
